Web Development Manager

Based in our centrally located Bangkok office, the successful candidate will bring their knowledge and experience in modern web application development to help drive the growth of our global client services platform.

The Candidate:

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Browser development: Extensive modern-browser compatible, standards-compliant responsive web development experience (HTML5, CSS, XML, JS, JSON and frameworks)
  • Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and other integration technologies
  • Experience with QlikView or Qlik Sense is preferred (Enigma.js desirable);
  • Knowledge of PHP (Symfony)
  • Front-end frameworks (Angular.js, Vue.js)
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server advantageous
  • Data visualization experience is highly advantageous (R, Python)
  • A continuous learner and challenged by new application development technologies
  • A self-starter attitude and be able to further develop skills using readily available online resources

The Job:

Powertrain Forecasting Manager

Working as part of a leading global automotive forecasting team, the China Powertrain Forecasting Manager will assume responsibility for the on-going delivery of a detailed Light Vehicle powertrain forecast for China, designed to meet the analytical needs of key stakeholders in the local and global automotive sector including OEMs, major component suppliers and others.

Reporting to the Director, Asia-Pacific forecasting in Shanghai, the successful candidate would also have reporting responsibility to the Director, Global Powertrain, based in Oxford, UK.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a technically focussed, detail-oriented team player with good communication and management skills.

At least three years’ experience in the automotive sector, preferably with a leading automotive supplier or OEM in China, and an understanding of the key drivers of technical change within the powertrain sector is essential.

Strong English language skills, written and spoken, are required as is a Bachelor degree or above, preferably in engineering or in an automotive-related area.

The Job:

Manage and contribute to the research and analysis of the Greater China powertrain/New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market resulting in a credible and market-leading forecasting database.

Communicate the value and scope of the powertrain forecast to clients and prospects via industry events, client meetings, networking and presentations.

Develop strong relationships with peers in the industry in order to maximise research potential and gain the insights vital to producing a premium China powertrain forecast.

Display an understanding of key fiscal, technical, regulatory and consumer drivers of change in the China powertrain sector and how these will shape the powertrain sector in the future.

Ensure that the future powertrain strategies of major OEMs, with particular attention to the vital area of NEV activities, are understood and are reflected in the forecast database.

Work with powertrain managers in different regions in order that the resulting database and forecast are globally consistent and that database accuracy is maintained at a high level.

Possess strong database skills and excellent proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Be able to employ those database and analytical tools, and others, to the best advantage so that forecasts are produced efficiently and deadlines are met.

Demonstrate a strong ability to innovate, problem solve and, above all, contribute to the anticipated strong growth of the company’s light vehicle powertrain service.


Powertrain Forecasting Analyst

Working as part of a dedicated global forecasting team and reporting to the Powertrain Forecasting Manager, China, the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of a detailed forecast database dedicated to the China powertrain sector. The fast-changing nature of this area requires that the analyst can recognise future trends as well as maintain an accurate view of the current situation.

The Candidate:

The candidate will have a background in the automotive or related sectors, will possess strong research, analytical and database skills, as well as being able to deliver to a strict deadline.

A broad understanding of the technical issues associated with light vehicle powertrain, including the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sector and factors that influence those, would be an advantage.

The ability to work with international colleagues to ensure global consistency is necessary.

Good English language skills, written and spoken, are required as is a Bachelor degree or above, preferably in engineering or in an automotive-related area.

The Job:

Regularly gather detailed information on the China powertrain/NEV market and enter these data into the China Engine and Transmission Forecast and China NEV forecast.

Manage complex and disaggregated data sources proficiently, extracting key relevant information quickly, accurately and concisely.

Working with the powertrain manager, investigate the powertrain strategies of OEMs in the China light vehicle market, as well as the technical and regulatory factors that influence change.

Use all of this information to play a central role in the updating and development of a detailed forecast of key aspects of future powertrain as defined within the existing powertrain products.

Deliver this forecast and the associated reports on time and with an assurance of high quality – both in data accuracy and the supporting written information.

Show proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and flexibility using other analytical tools.

Respond to client enquiries in the powertrain sector and be able to explain methodology and reasoning behind the forecasts.

Assist the powertrain manager with client management, sales activities, presentations and industry events as required and develop research contacts within the automotive sector.

Interact with LMCA colleagues in other locations in order to ensure the global consistency and integrity of the forecast databases.

Use your experience and skills to participate in product optimisation, innovation, marketing and efficiency improvements.
